Self-Awareness, Values and Perfection

We should be eager to embrace self love, and be a perpetual learner in this voyage. I’ve stopped apologizing for who I am and have learned that I am “perfect” the way I am. I will constantly be growing, evolving and working on bad habits. But, those flaws; those imperfections are part of the beauty that makes me, me. “If you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.” ― Marilyn Monroe.

Philippians 2:2-8

Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, …

I’m Not Perfect (Yes, you keep showing me that.)

Our identity should be seen as an ongoing process. Rather than a static snapshot, we should embrace a flowing sense of self. Whereby, we are perpetually re-framing, re-organizing, re-thinking and re-considering ourselves. How different would life be if rather than asking who am I? We contemplated how we’d like to engage life… But I think the reason I’ve never had that mindset (“I not perfect”), is because I do believe in our innate “perfection” along with the amazing ability we all have to grow. We can change, clear things up and make real, heartfelt amends when necessary. It doesn’t normally cross my mind to consider whether I am doing something “perfectly” and right or wrong. I, for the most part, move through the world thinking I can do almost anything I put my mind to!

Luke 18:9-14

He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ …

Fitness Body Training

The person who thinks they can and the person who thinks they can’t are both right. Which one are you?

1 Timothy 4:8

For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Health and fitness clubs provide their customers with the infrastructure for their workouts and physical activity in exchange for a membership fee. The global fitness and health club industry generates more than 80 billion U.S. dollars in revenue per year. Regular aerobic exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer and breast cancer. It can lower blood pressure and improve your blood cholesterol by reducing the levels of LDL-cholesterol (so-called ‘bad’ cholesterol) and increasing the amount of HDL-cholesterol (so-called ‘good’ cholesterol). It can also reduce anxiety, stress and depression, as well as instilling a general sense of well-being. Regular aerobic exercise has even been shown to have the potential to increase your lifespan.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we can imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Fitting regular exercise into your daily schedule may seem difficult at first. But you can start slowly, and break your exercise time into chunks. Even doing ten minutes at a time is fine. You can work your way up to doing the recommended amount of exercise. How much exercise you need depends on your age and health.

1 Corinthians 10:31

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Proverbs 31:17

She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

Online marketplaces are pushing boundaries all the time. They know people are becoming used to the convenience of the internet, so they are looking for ways to keep people amused. For the first time ever, more shoppers are going to the web for most of their purchases. The vast majority of online stores offer prices that are much lower than what you will find at a physical store. Shopping online is convenient. You don’t need to get dressed and drive to your favorite store. One of retail’s biggest game changers is Amazon, which is killing its brick-and-mortar rivals. According to data from eMarketer for the trailing 12-month period, Amazon took the number-one spot with $94.7 billion in online sales. Leviticus 25:14 And if you make a sale to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another.

Proverbs 11:1

A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.

Aram was your customer because of the abundance of your goods; they paid for your wares with emeralds, purple, embroidered work, fine linen, coral and rubies.

Nehemiah 13:16

Also men of Tyre were living there who imported fish and all kinds of merchandise, and sold them to the sons of Judah on the sabbath, even in Jerusalem.

People don’t just go online to shop. They go online to make comparisons between the various places that they can potentially buy from. Going from one physical store to the next can be a tiring process. Jumping from one brand to the next via the internet is easy and painless.

After offering a gift to someone, it is characteristically a natural emotion to want recognition for the deed. In my view, I believe the best way to present a gift is to offer it without expectations. The very act of giving should bring you pleasure.

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

2 Corinthians 9:6

When a friend or stranger gives you something–anything–even a simple compliment, don’t immediately feel the need to reciprocate. Show your sincere gratitude…and that’s all. Your time to give will come later, in the future, when you feel it arise on its own, unprompted. Every single person with any combination of Money Personalities can learn to be a cheerful giver.

Having the Gift of Giving

First, if you don’t understand why you gift as you do, it’s easy to enter the land of the absurd. The psychology of why gift giving is so rewarding is simple, it allows people to connect. The giver of a gift expresses their feelings and emotions by sending a gift with the hope of being able to share these with the receiver of the gift. Do you see what you have in abundance and feel compelled to share your wealth of abilities, time, or resources with others? People with the Gift of Giving have an innate ability to see the needs of others and have the resources to help them.

Deuteronomy 15:10

Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

Proverbs 3:27

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
